Manchester United Star Slapped With Two-match Ban For Misconduct

Manchester United defender Phil Jones has been handed two-match ban for verbally abusing a UEFA anti-doping officer during their Europa League final.

The English star will miss the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid and their first game in the Champions League next season.

Phil Jones is understood to have verbally abused a doping control officer after he was asked to undergo an examining test after the final game in Stockholm.

Dutch centre-back Daley Blind was also fined £4,500 alongside Jones for failing to turn up for drug tests after their final victory over Ajax Amsterdam in the Europa League.

Meanwhile Blind was also unwilling to take a test as he preferred to take part in the Europa League trophy celebration

Although there is no suggestion that either player is guilty of doping.

Manchester United have also been fined £8,900 for breaching doping rules and the club have been given three days to appeal against the rulings.

The news will come as a devastating blow to United after Eric Bailly was given a further two game ban for misconduct during their semi-final against Celta Vigo.
