Chelsea captain John Terry has responded to the contract extension offered to him by the club, via his Instagram page.
The 35-year-old had previously stated his desire to sign a new deal with the club, after it was revealed that his current contract was to run out in the summer. However, Terry has now stated that he need’s time to consider it carefully, before making a decision.
Terry has made 703 appearances at Chelsea, since his debut in October 1998 and has not only become a club legend, but a real fan favourite too.
In response to the contract extension, John Terry also revealed that the club has offered him different kind of role. Could this ‘new role’ be a step back from the first team and playing as more of a squad player?
Whatever it is, it will be interesting to see whether Terry stays on or goes to see his playing days out abroad somewhere eg. MLS.
