Dickson Wrestling classics : Adekuoroye inspires Ondo female wrestlers to 5 gold medals

Ondo State female wrestlers were at their best, winning 5 Gold and 1 silver medals at the ongoing Governor Seriake Dickson Wrestling Championships holding at the Indoor Hall of the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenegoa, Bayelsa State.
Africa champions, Aminat Adeniyi (58kg) and Odunayo Adekuoroye (55kg) led the riot for the Ondo ladies to win gold followed by Samuel Bose (53kg), former junior African champion, Makanjuola Bisola (60kg)  and Ohida Aina (44kg) in the junior category .
Ondo State was closely followed by the host, Bayelsa State as it took 59 seconds for the two-time Olympian, Blessing Oborududu (63Kg) to produce the gold medal. Africa champion, Mercy Genesis (48kg), Kemasuodo Dressman (69kg) and in the junior category Sele Ere Matthew (46kg) won the 3 gold medals.
Olympian, Hannah Reuben (69kg) lost her National title to Kemasuodo Dressman (Bayelsa) in a dramatic way, after much deliberation from the Nigeria Referees point on perceiving were awarded to Dressman.
The Nigeria Army stole the show in the 75kg weight category winning both Gold and silver coming from Gofit Winnie and Shonde Rhoda.
Speaking with the head coach, Ondo State wrestling coach, Purity Akuh said the feat recorded in Bayelsa was attributed to the God and hard work put in by the wrestlers.
Purity who doubles as the National female wrestling coach noted that before competing at the event, the newly elected Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu charged them to make the state proud.
