The Edo State House ofAssembly has adopted a resolution calling for the immediate dissolution of Community Development Association (CDA) and Youth Associations in Evbuoka and Evbuosa quarters in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State.
The House through its resolution also mandated the Enogie of Ahor Community to appoint some members of Evbuoka and Evbuosa Communities into Ahor Community Development Association as both communities are quarters in Ahor.
It further called for the planting of “Ikhinmwin tree” for the purpose of boundary demarcation between Ahor and Uselu ‘N’ Ahor to be maintained by both communities.
The adoption of the resolution was sequel to the consideration of the report of the House Standing Communittee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs on a petition titled “Present travails of the Enogie of Ahor, HRH Enotionmwan Idelegbagbon”.
The Committee’s report revealed that the Enogie of Ahor and Uselu ‘N’ Ahor were traditionally recognized by His Majesty, the Oba of Benin and Edo State Government, stressing that Evbuoka and Evbuosa are quarters in Ahor under the traditional ruler of the Enogie of Ahor.
The report also said that the major crisis affecting the communities was as a result of the sales of land and that there were illegal associations formed for the purpose of sales of land adding that there was a boundary demarcation between Ahor and Uselu ‘N’ Ahor as approved by His Royal Majesty, the Oba of Benin.
