Lagos Catholic lawyers hold seminar on economic recession

Catholic lawyers in the Archdiocese of Lagos will, on Saturday, March 11, hold a seminar entitled “’Economic Recession and the Legal Profession.”

The event comes up at Colonades Hotel, Ikoyi at 10:00am.

According to  Chairman, Organising Committee of the event, Mr. Pat Anyadubalu, the guest lecturer on the occasion will be Mr. Arthur Obi Okafor (SAN), who will be speaking on “Economic Recession in Nigeria: The Legal Practitioner’s survival Strategies,” while Yahaya Maikori is billed to speak on “Sports and Entertainment Law.”

The organizers disclosed that the seminar will also feature Prof. Pat Utomi, Benjamin Obidegwu and Funke Aboyade (SAN) as discussants.

Anyadubalu noted that the seminar was inspired by the worsening economic realities in the country, saying that it had become necessary for concerned citizens to speak out and proffer solution to get the country out of its present quagmire.

He noted that the forum was for every Nigerian irrespective of their religious or political affiliations, and appealed for participation by all and sundry.

“When you go to market, you are not asked whether you are a Christian or Moslem, Anglican or Catholic or Pentecostal; we all have common destiny; we all are facing the same economic reality in the country. Therefore everyone is invited to come and learn how to survive the hard times.”
