As Ghana approaches the celebration of 60 years of Independence, the nation’s favourite stout, Guinness, has unveiled an iconic Limited Edition GH@60 label, celebrating Ghana’s culture, heritage and history named OSAGYEFO. This special celebratory label has been designed to recognise all the incredible people, cultures and monuments across the country who have made Ghana truly MadeofBlack over the past 60 years.
The Bold and Vibrant label was conceived with the help of a Ghana Cultural Council – a collective imaginative individuals from Ghana, who have joined forces to help develop an eye-catching label that will be at the heart of Ghana’s Independence celebrations.
The Limited Edition label also marks over 50 years of brewing heritage for Guinness in Ghana. The packaging has a celebratory look, but inside the bottle, it’s the great tasting Guinness that Ghanaian’s know and love.
Speaking at the launch Kweku Sekyi-Cann, Marketing and Innovations Director at Guinness Ghana said, “The GH@60 celebrations promise to be an inspiring and exciting time in Ghana and, as the nation’s favourite stout, we are proud to be a part of these celebrations, and of the nation’s rich heritage. We hope that our iconic limited edition label will excite Ghanaians to be the toast of our Independence celebrations”.
Mr. Sekyi-Cann added that “We are doing more than just launching this bold and vibrant label. We want to celebrate all the inspirational Ghanaians who have been carving their own path in life these 60 years post-independence. As part of the celebrations, we will be searching for 60 ‘everyday Ghanaians’ who make this country MadeofBlack between March and April. The search is on, so if you know someone who represents the unique spirit of Ghana, you can nominate them to be part of the final 60, where they could see their faces across Ghana as part of a bespoke advertising campaign.”
Over the past years, Guinness has seen to it that a significant amount of resources is dedicated to helping contribute to this great nation. Through its local raw material sourcing program, the livelihoods of over 16,300 farmers including their families in the Upper East, Upper West, Northern, Brong-Ahafo, Volta, Eastern and Central regions have been impacted positively by Guinness Ghana up-taking maize, sorghum and cassava from them.
In partnership with Y107.9 FM, Guinness will also host a consumer launch at the Trade Fair Complex on Saturday, March 4, dubbed the Area Codes Jam. The concert will indulge local artistes to entertain Ghanaians to mark the anniversary in grand style.
The Limited Edition Guinness label will be available across the country from March 1, 2017 and will feature an under the crown promotion where consumers could win a complimentary bottle of Guinness or other specially designed GH@60 prizes.
Make sure you like the Guinness Facebook page to get involved in all of the celebratory activities (http://ift.tt/2mOB5PO). Please remember to enjoy Guinness responsibly. Not for sale to persons under the age of 18 and pregnant women.
