Today is singer Simi’s birthday, and Adekunle Gold has finally opened up on their relationship.
To start her day, Simi took to her Instagram page to write herself a heartfelt note. “Happy birthday Simisola Bolatito Adeola Opeyemi Oreoluwa Ogunleye,” the singer began the note with her full name, looking back at how far she has come.
She is simply thankful.
Shortly after, a fan drew similarities between the singer’s full name and the lines from Adekunle Gold’s love song, ‘Orente’.
Here’s what Gold sang:
“E ba mi ki Orente, Orente… iyawo mi ni orente
Adeola lo orente, bolatito loorente
Opeyemi ni orente
Omo daada ni orente mi
Ebami ki orente
Shoutout to my orente o
Omo daada ni orente mi
E ba mi ki orente!!!
Iyawo mi ni orente”
Piqued by the names sprinkled in the song, which were obviously taken from the female singer’s names, the fan tweeted at Adekunle Gold and asked if she was the inspiration behind ‘Orente’.
And Adekunle Gold stepped out of the closet. “I wrote it for her,” he said.
@SympLySimi Quick question.

And Twitter goes wild!
All through 2016, Simi and rapper Falz kept fans on the edge with their heartfelt collaborations and cute photos, and though their Chemistry tells a different story, the duo maintained that they simply are friends.
This January, Simi and Adekunle Gold who have never addressed rumours that they datedkicked off the year with fresh controversies when Adekunle Gold posted pictures from his vacation spot in Lagos, and shortly after, Simi shared similar photos of the same spot.
We wait for when the duo will make their relationship official, but for the time being, let’s dance to their love song
