Wayne Rooney made a return to the first team after missing several games, and the Englishman did not disappoint his gaffer Jose Mourinho.
A defensive gaffe gave the Red Devils the chance to score the first goal in the 21st minute as Anthony Martial put United ahead.
Paul Pogba would have scored the second goal for United in the 27th minute, but the former Juventus man missed the chance. Anthony Martial delivered a superb pass in the 39th minute, and former Everton striker Wayne Rooney wasted no time to score the winning goal for Manchester United.
Manchester United are still on fifth position on the Premier League standings with 63 points after 32 games and they are one point adrift fourth placed Manchester City.
