Watch Kendrick Lamar’s Interview With Zane Lowe

It’s been a week since Kendrick Lamar dropped his full-length solo project DAMN. and obviously, he’s cemented his status as this generation’s GOAT if critics or potential first week sales have anything to say. But Top Dawg Entertainment’s flagship MC has been relatively quiet when it comes to interviews. That ended today following a Beats 1 sitdown with Zane Lowe. The two met up ahead of Lamar’s second closing set at Coachella in Indio, CA.

In a new 45-minute video interview with Beats 1 host Zane Lowe, Kendrick opens up about the making of the album, working with Rihanna and U2, taking inspiration from Jay Z and Tupac, his relationship with Barack Obama, “DUCKWORTH.” and the challenges of the creative process.

There’s plenty to explore, so we just advise you to dive into the lengthy discussion. In pretty much reaffirms Kendrick Lamar as a quiet, contemplative, calculating, and deeply passionate artist.
