90 Fans Hospitalized At Chance The Rapper Connecticut Concert

More than 90 attendees were hospitalized last night during a Connecticut show featuring Chance the Rapper, the Associated Press reports.

Chance the Rapper was performing at the Xfinity Theatre when authorities had to take over 90 attendees to hospital. Most were suffering from what authorities described as “severe intoxication.”

Hartford Deputy Chief Brian Foley said Saturday that officers made 50 underage drinking referrals at the event. Most of those charged were issued a summons to appear in court. Several other arrests were made throughout the evening.

Foley explained that the crowd were participating in “tailgating, partying, and excessive alcohol consumption,” adding that the crowd was mostly made up of teens and young adults.

The story goes on to say that a typical concert would involve “20-30 transports,” but so many young people were taken to the hospital from this show that the ambulance provider had to get help from other nearby hospitals.
