Man’s bodily fluid found in soap dispensers at a Detroit airport

An “unusual substance” was discovered in soap dispensers in several bathrooms at Detroit Metropolitan Airport last week and an investigation is underway.

The substance was found in the North Terminal bathrooms, and airport workers believe it was a man’s body fluid, WJBK-TV reported.

“I just used the men’s bathroom, I just washed my hands and coming to find this out — it is a little disgusting,” traveler Matthew Demers told the station

Jamilia McClendon, who cleans the airport bathrooms, believes the culprit is an airport worker, not a passenger.

“The way the soap dispensers are under the sink, a passenger wouldn’t know how to get up under, and untwist them,” she told WJBK. “It really is disgusting. A lot of crazy things happen at the airport.”

She added that the cleaning crew has taken extra precautions to make sure the soap is actually soap.

It’s unclear if the substance was indeed a bodily fluid because it hasn’t been tested yet, according to WDIV-TV.
