The Nigerian Senate has summoned the Foreign Affairs minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, to explain what the Executive arm of government is doing over the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.

The senate also resolved to send a high-powered delegation of Nigerian lawmakers to the South African parliament to find a way to stop the attacks on Nigerians.

Senate president Bukola Saraki also urged the committees to swiftly complete their work on the list of ambassadors submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari so that the upper house of legislature can quickly approve their appointments and Nigeria can have its representatives in places like South Africa.
