Lil Wayne’s elusive album, Tha Carter V, has been the topic of concern for Weezy fans for a while now. Is it being held hostage by Birdman? Does somebody already own a finished version? Has Tune revamped the project? When it does come out, will it be worth the wait? We seem to be moving closer to getting answers to those questions and more as Weezy recently announced the project would be coming soon.
During a recent stop on the Kloser 2 U Tour in Dallas, TX at the South Side Ballroom, Wayne may have reignited hopes of his delayed album Tha Carter V finally seeing the light of day.
“Thank you, C5 coming soon,” Wayne told the assembled crowd. “Fvvk Cash Money. It’s the Roc.”
According to Wayne, the masters for the completed Carter V album are in his possession, but he won’t be releasing them until he settles his dispute with Cash Money. In the meantime, Cash Money co-founder Birdman still insists that the album will be released in 2017. “Me and Wayne will be aight,” he told Billboard in February. “I’mma make that work. That’s my son and I love him, and we’ll make it happen.”
