Bonang Matheba and her former best friend may have finally made peace, and this comes more than a yea after the duo’s beautiful relationship came to an abrupt end, shocking many of their fans.
In case you missed it, Bonang and the SA Idols judge were inseparable besties until fans noticed that they had stopped appearing at events together and had stopped talking to each other. Shortly after, Somizi revealed that Bonang stopped talking to him and that she unfollowed him on Twitter and Instagram.
“The last time I had spoken to this person she was in Mauritius the night before telling me how much she misses me and then the next thing dololo,” he said on his reality show ‘Living the Dream with Somizi’.
On her part, the Idols judge said she cut off their relationship because of the AKA x DJ Zinhle scandal; Bonang thought it was Somizi who told Zinhle of her relationship with AKA, causing the embarrassing saga between Bonang and Zinhle.
Somizi denied this.
“One thing I know for sure, we will never go back to what we were before. I am the type where if trust is gone, like wrinkled paper, you will never iron me back. I will be civil but you will never have my private space again… I loved that girl and still do. She was my Lebo Mathosa and for her to shut me out like that really hurt me,” he said during an interview on ‘Real Talk With Anele’.
It has been months. Fans have long been begging Bonang and Somizi to make peace and return to being the dynamic duo that they used to be. And it seems the pleas finally touched Bonang’s heart, because to the just-concluded #SAMA23, Bonang stood up to dance as Somizi sang a local tune.
And that’s not all, she reportedly later went on to call him ‘the highlight of the night‘ – her first talk about him since their relationship ended.
We are guessing the relationship is on the mend.
