ALGON donates food items to returnee IDPs in Adamawa

The Adamawa State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has donated food items to returnee-Internally Displaced Persons in Madagali Local Government Area of the state.

The member representing Michika/Madagali Federal Constituency,

Mr Adamu Kamale, presented the items to Alhaji Yusuf Muhammed, Chairman of Madagali local council on Friday in Gulak.

Muhammed expressed gratitude for the sympathy and brotherliness exhibited by ALGON to displaced persons in the area.

He said that the materials would assist victims of Boko Haram attacks and the less privileged in the area.

“May I on behalf of myself and the good people of Madagali sincerely commend the effort of the leadership and members of the association,” Muhammed said.

He also commended the effort been made by Adamawa Government for considering the area first in most of the government intervention programmes.

Kamale, the chaiman of Madagali local council also thanked the association for the gesture and commended federal and state governments for efforts to bring out the Madagali community out of its challenges.

Among the items distributed included 1,200 bags of rice, 600 bags of millet and maize respectively.

Other are 400 bags of beans, 300 cartons of Indomie Noddles and 200 jerrycans of cooking oil. ( NAN)
