The Federal Government yesterday sacked 10 directors in the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), as part of an exercise geared towards re-engineering the aviation industry regulatory agency.
Saturday Sun learnt that the sack letters of the nine directors were issued by the Minister of State for Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika.
The affected directors are: Alhaji Salawu Ozigi (Director of Finance and Accounts); Dr. Joyce Nkemakolam (Director of Aerodrome and Airspace Standards); Barr. Aba Ejembi (Director of Administration) and Mr. Emmanuel Ogunbami (Director of Licensing).
Others are Engr. Benedict Adeyileka (Director of Airworthiness); Mr. Justus Wariya (Director of Air Transport Regulation); Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi (Director of Consumer Protection): Capt. Ayodele Sasegbon (Director of General Aviation); and Mr. Austin-Amadi Ifeanyi (Director of Human Resources).
“Nine (9) directors of the NCAA have been issued letters terminating their appointments and also asked to handover immediately to the next in command in their various directorates,” an industry source told Saturday Sun. “Only the Director General/CEO of the NCAA, Capt. Muhtar Usman was spared in the purge,” the source who declined to be named added.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has appointed three new Directors and a General Manager for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.
This was contained in a statement by the spokesperson of FAAN, Henrietta Yakubu.
The newly appointed Directors are Group Captain U.S.A. Sadiq, appointed as Director of Security Services; Captain Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu, appointed as Director of Airport Operations; Engr. Salisu Nura Daura, appointed as Director of Maintenance and Engineering; and Aniefiok Umoh, appointed as General Manager, Finance.
