Acting President Yemi Osinbajo and a former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, are among the dignitaries to be honoured at a book launch written on the life and time of a late Supreme Court judge, Justice Kayode Eso.
The 850 pages book titled: ‘ Justice Kayode Eso: Beacon of judicial activism’ will be launch in Lagos, is a compendium on some selected judgments delivered by the late justice of the Supreme Court.
Speaking at a press briefing, in Lagos, over the weekend, the organiser, Seal Publishing Ltd said, the book will afford opportunities for analytical and dynamic reflections on the society towards promoting national growth and greatness using the beautiful years of the law practice of the late jurist as case study.
The publishing outfit disclosed that the Acting President will be honour with an award of excellence for his innovative reforms of judiciary and justice system in Lagos when he was helm of affairs has the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice during the tenure of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
One of the authors of the book, Arigbabuwo Lateef, a legal practitioner, said the book on the late jurist was divided into three parts made up of his biography, some selected landmark judgments he delivered while at the at the bench.
According to him, academics and jurist including Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), the chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption, Prof. Akin Oyebode, and Prof. Olesegun also made their input in the compendium on the late justice of the Supreme Court.
He said the late justice in spite of threat to his life during the military era delivered some landmark judgment which does not favoured the military government at that time.
Lateef added that business mogul and the president of Dangote group will be the chief launcher while Governor Rauf Aregbesola will be the special guest of honour.
