NPFL: Biffo faces baptism of fire in Uyo

Newly announced coach of Abia Warriors, Abdullahi Biffo, will receive his first baptism of fire as the head coach of the Umuahia – based outfit, as they confront improved Akwa United in the NPFL week 10 match.

The encounter, billed for the Uyo Stadium tomorrow, will test the technical savvy of Biffo who has reportedly told his fans to keep calm and see him perform wonders.

Biffo slipped into the driver’s seat courtesy of veteran coach Okey Emordi’s resignation from the outfit.

Emordi’s parting of ways with the club is not unconnected with Warriors’ poor results so far.

The big blow was last Sunday’s Abia Warriors loss at home to El Kanemi, who are handled by former Abia Warriors coach Ladan Bosso.

Warriors’ began the season on a good note before they hit a slump and are now eighth on the table with 11 points from nine matches.

And Biffo says the match against Akwa is a win or draw, stating that they must come out with the three points or at worst one point.

“We are prepared for the match.  It is just like any other game and the players know this. We are determined and rearing to go,” he said.
