The England striker is of Ghanaian descent as he went back to his African country to enjoy his summer break.
The 26-year-old was previously in Ghana in 2012 and has again returned to the country of his birth to spend some quality time with his relatives.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) had been on the heels of Welbeck, with the hope that he could turn out for the Black Stars.
However, the Arsenal striker opted to represent England at international level, and has gone on to claim 34 caps for the Three Lions so far. Welbeck was captured on camera posing for pictures with some supposed relatives of his at their family house in Kumasi.
The Ghanaian-born English international has never shied away from his roots and has frequently been tweeting about Ghana.
Welbeck was part of the Arsenal squad that won the 2017 FA Cup after defeating rivals Chelsea 2-1 in the final at Wembley.
