– Singer Frankeyz thinks Wizzy hasn’t changed at all Many have expressed their displeasure at the ‘new’ kind of music Wizkid has been putting out these days.

Things came to a head when Davido threw shots at Wizkid telling him that his ‘international’ status wouldn’t take him very far.

Wizkid responded by telling Davido to ‘catch up or remain local’. Both musicians have since continued to shade each other on social media.

But rising act Frankeyz has said he doesn’t think Wizkid has changed his style. Instead, his music has evolved.

“Wizkid hasn’t changed; he is still the Wizkid that we all know. The only thing is that his music has evolved. One has to flow with the times and that is exactly what Wizkid has done. Everyone is trying to create something different,” he said in a recent interview.

Speaking about what inspired his new single Ringo Ringo, he said it was a case of domestic violence he once witnessed that made him pen the song. “Well, Ringo Ringo is just a term I personally coined to depict a kind of feeling.

You know those butterfly feelings you get when you meet a new girl and you just feel she’s everything and then you start to maltreat her and probably lose her in the end. I got inspired to write about Ringo Ringo early this year when a neighbor who leaves in my street and fond of hitting his wife at regular intervals.

This got me thinking heavily what would make a man raise his hands on someone you probably spent months trying to woo, then fall in love with her, marry her, father her kids and turn this same pretty thing into your punching bag.

I just came to the conclusion that no matter what, there was no justification whatsoever for that. You get something so precious and you never know what you have until you lose it. And that’s the case for most men these days,” he told Daily Times
