Kodak Black Released From Jail Once Again

Kodak Black was released from jail this morning after serving 97 days of his 364-day sentence. A representative at the Broward County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to XXL that Kodak, born Dieuson Octave, was set free from the Broward County Jail Monday morning (June 5) at 8:45 a.m EST.

The rapper was sentenced to a year in county jail for violating his house arrest last month. He had been in jail since February 28th. The Broward Beach rapper had made a plea to Judge Michael Lynch, saying he knew “depending on the outcome of this, it could be the beginning of my career, or the end of my career.”

That sentence was reduced to 180 days pending Octave’s completing a 30-day life skills course plus the time he had already served. Inmates in the life skills program receive instruction on domestic violence, parenting, anger management, financial management, problem solving, self-control skills and stress management, among other behaviors, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
