Phil Collins has been rushed to a hospital for emergency treatment after the legendary singer suffered a horrible fall in his hotel room, gashing his forehead.
According to the statement shared on his Facebook, the 66-year-old singer reportedly tripped over a step in his bedroom at a London hotel following his concert, and he suffered a bad gash to his forehead.
Here’s what his Facebook said:
“We Unfortunately Have To Announce That Phil Collins’ Performance At The Royal Albert Hall In London Will Be Postponed Tonight (June 8) And Tomorrow (June 9). Phil Suffers From ‘Drop Foot’ As A Result Of A Back Operation Which Makes It Difficult To Walk. He Rose In The Middle Of The Night To Go To The Toilet And Slipped In His Hotel Room, Hitting His Head In The Fall On A Chair. He Was Taken To Hospital Where He Had Stitches For A Severe Gash On His Head Close To His Eye And Is Recovering Well. He Will Be Kept Under Observation For 24 Hours.
Phil Sends His Sincere Apologies And Thanks To Fans. He Has Had A Fantastic Week At His First Shows In 10 Years, Cannot Thank People Enough For Their Warm Reaction And Is Excited To Return.”
This sad news comes a week after it was revealed that the singer has been performing with a cane and sitting down throughout his gigs this week at the Royal Albert Hall.
In 2015, Phil Collins underwent back surgery and was hopeful he would still play his drums. But in 2016, he revealed in an interview with Billboard, that he suffered major health challenges, including a dislocated vertebra, nerve damage and foot fractures which have left him feeling like he’s walking “on sticks.” Even after the surgery, he’s been unable to play the drums properly.
Now, he has cancelled his 2 London concerts and is required to undergo another surgery.
